If your house was on fire, what would you rescue first? The usual answers are children, wife, pets and so on. Some, however, give less correct answers, like their favorite hat or the family silver.

However, no one really knows what it will be until tragedy strikes which, thankfully, will never happen to most of us. But it did happen to one Chinese family in Beijing this week. The house burned down and the wife, as one might expect, took herself and the baby out of harm’s way. The husband rescued the TV set and then started to look for a working socket. He could not bear to miss the World Cup soccer match, you see.
