Gender Discrimination Laws
(DAILY EXPRESS) 14 June 2007
In the UK the government has just announced an upcoming change in the gender discrimination laws. It has long been the practice at certain golf and other private clubs that women can only be associate, or junior members. This means that they are not allowed into certain rooms and so on. As a result of the change in the law such differential memberships will no longer be legal.
However, clubs which are entirely single sex can continue to be so: so the men won’t be crashing the Anne Summers parties just yet.
