By studying lap dancers who were and were not using the contraceptive pill, he was able to show that those cycling naturally had higher earnings in their fertile days than those either outside this part of the cycle or on the pill.

(USMAGAZINE.COM) 12 September 2007:

By now the only people that haven’t heard about Britney Spears botched VMA performance are the North Koreans and Steve Fossett. UsWeekly reports that after seeing herself on screen, Britney shrieked, “God, I looked like a fat pig!” She was reportedly inconsolable. After blaming everyone and everything else for her lackluster performance, perhaps Britney had a fleeting moment of self consciousness. Fleeting because hours later she was photographed getting into a limo sans panties. Again.

Fashion Policing the Skies

September 05, 2007 By: Editor Category: Culture, Sex No Comments →

(SAN DIEGO TRIBUNE) 5 September 2007:

A college student was escorted off a Southwest Airlines flight to Tucson for wearing a revealing outfit. She was wearing a mini skirt, tank top with sweater over it, and high heels. Southwest has a policy that states any passenger can be removed “whose clothing is lewd, obscene, or patently offensive.” She was eventually allowed to stay on the flight, but only with a blanket covering her lap.

The student’s mother commented, “My daughter is young, tall, blond, and beautiful and she is both envied and complimented on her appearance. She dresses provocatively, as do 99 percent of 23 year old girls who can.”

A Kiss Is Just a Kiss

September 03, 2007 By: Editor Category: Relationships, Sex No Comments →

(BBC) 3 September 2007:

In what might not be the most astonishing research result of all time, scientists have discovered that men and women approach kissing differently.

Women place much more weight upon whether a man is a good kisser (or, a good kisser “for them”) than men do upon the skills of a woman. Further, men worry less about kissing the longer a relationship lasts while women worry more.

To cap the unexpectedness of the results it was also found that men were less discriminating than women about who they kiss or have sex with.

Rumors that the next project will concentrate on “Water, wet or not?” are not as yet confirmed.

Male Brain Linked to Autism

August 08, 2007 By: Editor Category: Science, Sex No Comments →

(NEW YORK TIMES) 8 August 2005:

Males produce more prenatal testosterone than females do, but levels vary even among members of the same sex. Simon Baron Cohen says that “ it may not be your sex per se that determines what kind of brain you have, but your prenatal hormone levels. From there it’s a short leap to the intriguing idea that a male can have a typically female brain (if his testosterone levels are low), while a female can have a typically male brain (if her testosterone levels are high). That notion fits with the evidence that girls born with congenital adrenal hyperplasia, who for genetic reasons produce too much testosterone, are more likely to exhibit ”tomboy” behavior than girls with more ordinary hormone levels.”

According to the “extreme male brain” theory of autism, people with autism exhibit an extreme of the male brain profile. These people have high drive to systemize and a low drive to empathize.

Explaining That Mid-Life Crisis

July 24, 2007 By: Editor Category: Gender Roles, Relationships, Science, Sex No Comments →

(PSYCHOLOGY TODAY) 24 July 2007:

There are some who insist that the male mid-life crisis does not exist, others who are sure it is simply intimations of nearing mortality talking: Researchers Miller and Kanazawa however, are both certain that it does exist and it is not in fact caused by men at all.

Rather, the desire to buy a red sports car, lose weight and cover up the bald patch comes from the aging of the man’s wife. As she goes through the menopause and thus becomes infertile there is the impetus for the man to chase the younger women: those who are still fertile.

Fortunately these days there is not much to worry about: younger women can afford their own sports cars and are mostly unimpressed with girdles and comb overs.

Why Have Sex?

July 18, 2007 By: Editor Category: Sex No Comments →

(GLOBE AND MAIL) 18 July 2007:

Researchers at the University of Texas have studied the reasons why people have sex. Apparently there are some 237 different possible ones. Love and attraction figured largely, but other responses were in order to gain a promotion, in order to get closer to God, revenge, to get rid of a headache or simply to get warm. One reason offered, that it burns calories, is certainly true, but surely there are better justifications than “overcoming boredom”?

There were no great differences is reasons offered by men and women: the real surprise is that no one seems to have mentioned the most obvious reason: it’s fun.

Purity Ring

July 17, 2007 By: Editor Category: Education, Sex No Comments →

(REUTERS) 17 July 2007:

A teenager whose teachers had stopped her wearing a “purity ring” at school to symbolize her commitment to virginity has lost a High Court fight against the ban.

Lydia Playfoot, 16, says her silver ring is an expression of her faith and had argued in court that it should be exempt from school regulations banning the wearing of jewelry.

“I am very disappointed by the decision this morning by the High Court not to allow me to wear my purity ring to school as an expression of my Christian faith not to have sex outside marriage,” Playfoot said in a statement Monday.

The couple plans to appeal.
